It was this time last year that I was busy preparing for the graduation of two of my sons—my youngest graduating from Kennett High School and my middle son from Widener University. That feels like a lifetime ago! And just like that, Spring is upon us once again. There is something magical about the energy of this season that sparks a renewed enthusiasm for creating work. I embrace this feeling wholeheartedly as I buzz around my studio preparing for my upcoming showings at Red Raven Art Company in Lancaster, PA in June and at the Cove Gallery in Wellfleet, MA. Last year was my first year showing at this wonderful Cape Cod gallery and I am happy to be able to return there for the 2024 Summer season.
On the homefront in Kennett Square, I am excited to work with a couple of local shops to display my small mixed-media work. I am always interested in creating small mixed-media paintings as a contrast to my much larger contemporary oil paintings. This shift in size and medium helps to keep me mentally stimulated in the studio and, more importantly, allows me to connect with the community where I live. As you are out and about this Spring, be sure to stop by The Mushroom Cap on State Street in Kennett Square to pick up one of my miniature mushroom paintings and add a taste of Kennett Square to your home decor. Or swing by Rooted in New London, PA, a welcoming community space featuring art and wares from over 250 local artisans, artists, and painters.
