The holiday gift-giving season is upon us. For the past few years, I have been doing collections of small work exclusively for the holidays. It is a wonderful way to connect with the community, while offering original art at affordable prices for those who have an appreciation for handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces.
This year I have used my large-scale oil paintings as inspiration for the small mixed media pieces I am creating. I enjoy having the opportunity to make art that is a little more whimsical and colorful than my typical paintings. Because the work is primarily done in acrylic paint, the process is quick and provides me with instant gratification, unlike my oil paintings which take much longer to complete. And new this year, I am adding the “fun” to functional art with my original art canvas totes. Add a few items inside and it's the perfect holiday gift that keeps on giving.
Downtown Kennett Square will be bursting with holiday cheer on Small Business Saturday, November 27, 2021. Grab a cup of hot cocoa and tackle some holiday shopping while you support your favorite local shops. Carol Lesher Studio will be hosting an Open Studio from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. so stop by to peruse all of the ready-to-gift framed artwork and canvas art totes that will surely make the perfect gifts for someone special on your list.
